Charming Tails Catalogs
Many people have written me asking how to get a catalog. Usually you can get one from a local or online store. They will either give you one for free or sell one to you (their choice). You also get a catalog when you join the Leaf and Acorn Club.
The following is a list of the Charming Tails catalogs that I know of. If you can add any information, please e-mail me. Some of the catalogs are hard to find and commanding high prices on the secondary market. My advice is to always keep at least one good copy of each catalog and if you can, get it signed by Dean.
Some of the catalogs have "bloopers." I only call them to your attention so you know about the errors. I know how hard it is to maintain a list of pieces. The catalogs are usually gorgeous and well done. But mistakes are inevitable, and you need to know about them.
2001
The 2001 catalog consists of 48 pages and will not be available until the 2001 membership renewal form is mailed and kits are mailed. The catalog will be included with the 2001 Club membership kit. The dimensions are 9" X 12" and has a 3 hole punch to insert in a 3 ring binder.
This year collectors were sad to hear that the retirement section would be deleted from any future catalogs. Because of the cost in printing, F & F had to make cutbacks. F & F said they would see what could be done for this year to give collectors a retirement section. Perhaps, something might be in our kits, even if its only a printed list. We'll have to wait patiently and see.
Special Interest: Something new regarding the 2001 Club redemption certificates for the Members Only exclusives. This year, they are including both the redemption certificates for the 2 members exclusives and the christmas ornament inside the membership kits. They will no longer be mailed to our homes, but arriving in your kits so pay attention.
If you do not have certificates for Tweet Dreams, Stocking Stuffers and You're Berry Special Ornament inside your membership kit when it arrives, contact F & F right away. They must be redeemed by you the collector, at the appropriate time when the piece becomes available. So YOU are the responsible person if they do not get turned in and you neglect to check your kit to make sure all 3 forms are inside the box.

1998
The 1998 catalog consists of 33 pages. The dimensions are 8.5" X 11" and have wire loops so you can put it in a binder. You can still find catalogs from 1998. The first batch of catalogs had faulty stapling; the middle page tends to fall out.

Bloopers:
Some photos are reversed for the pieces' "title" shots:
The photos of Bunny Buddies in the revised 1997 catalog (p. 5 and 11) and 1998 catalog (p. 4) actually show BACK of the piece. It's corrected in the 1999 catalog.
1997
There are two versions of the 1997 catalog, the first run and the "revised." The 1997 catalog was revised because they mistakenly listed the Charming Scenes for the wholesale price, $30 instead of $60. The following changes were made:
The 1997 catalog is simply titled "Charming Tails" and consists of 38 pages. The dimensions are 8.5" X 11" and has wire loops so you can put it in a binder.

Bloopers:
The catalogs have some photos that have the photo negatives reversed. The graphic designers may have thought that the photos looked better that way, or it may have been a mistake. Page 3 in the 1997 catalog is reversed since the pieces on page 4 are shown correct.
Also, some photos are reversed for the pieces' "title" shots:
The photos of Bunny Buddies in the revised 1997 catalog (p. 5 and 11) and 1998 catalog (p. 4) actually show BACK of the piece. It's corrected in the 1999 catalog.

It
was recently discovered that there is another catalog from Silvestri which
featured Charming Tails. The "Silvestri Spring
1995" Catalog has a wide variety of Easter/Spring related pieces, but also
has a separate, 8 page section devoted exclusively to Charming Tails.
Among the pieces features are: Can I Keep Him?, the 4 "seed
packet" pieces, Wanna Play?, Bunny on Mushroom (later
named "King of the Mushroom"), Bunny in Lily (later called "Binkey
in a Lily"), Two Peas in a Pod (retail price was ...
$6.75!!), Mouse on Bee, Love Mice, Mouse on Grasshopper, Hide and
Seek Mice (listed as "To Be Retired 12/31/95), Mouse on Dragonfly (also
"being"
retired 12/31/95), My Hero! waterglobe, Duckling in Egg with Mouse (again,
to be retired 12/31/95), and many more! Makes you wish you had been better
friends with a Silvestri Dealer back in 1995.
