SSC MEMBER Genia from Kentucky! "Mackenzie the Snowman" was the first piece in Genia's collection. She obtained it six years ago. "I came across it by accident online, fell in love and bought it on the spot," she recalls. She ranks it among her favorites. "I guess because it brings back the joy of getting a new piece," she said. Displaying Charming Tails with children in the house is
a challenge. "I have a baby, so right now I only put out Christmas
ones in a full lake-side skating area, and I put others out, rotate
them, in a little curio cabinet my daughter gave me for Mother's Day,"
she adds. She enjoys talking to other collectors online and
gardening. Great Deals Abound! Have you been keeping an eye on the new
Charming Tails web site?
They have been having news about the Regional events AND some GREAT on-line specials! Definitely
worth checking it out!

Love comes in many forms. Romantic love between two people ... nurturing love between parent and child ... compassionate love between friends ... Love is indeed a many-splendored thing! What better time of year than February, with Valentine's Day bringing out the romantic in all of us, to share a few Love Stories from some of our Charming Friends! The four SSC Members who shared their story didn't know it, but a small token of thanks is being awarded to one randomly-drawn winner! Jann Lortz will receive a "Wear It With Pride" pin, donated by a fellow SSC Member who wishes to remain anonymous. See - love is in the air! Just click each link below to read the four stories shared by our members. Enjoy! * Sharon Gleason (aka "Mausnut") * * *

* * * * * * * Valentine's Day ... when affection blooms with the warmth of a loving gaze! And talk about loving ... You're going to LOVE this month's contest prize! Our generous club sponsors, Piroska's Gift Shop has donated the new "Floating' on Luck Ornament & Stand" plus free shipping to the winner! The gorgeous piece features Binkey atop a four-leaf clover, swinging suspended from a rainbow over a pot of gold! Talk about "getting lucky"!! And since Binkey is featured in this piece, this month's contest happens to be all about Binkey and his love for Bunnie. The pair seem to have quite an "Abundance of Love," wouldn't you say? So abundant, in fact, that their little home is overflowing with little bunnies! But ... how many? We suggest you examine "An Abundance of Love" - and tell us how many baby bunnies (do not count Binkey or Bunnie) appear on the piece. To enter the contest, just e-mail your answer to epbryan@lcc.net. One lucky winner will be from all the correct entries received no later than Midnight, February 23, 2003. January Contest Winner: Congratulations to Suzanne Kounas, who was chosen from all eligible entries to receive a Collectibles Database generously donated by J. Philip, Inc. Here are the answers, listed in their order of release:

Last
month, we announced the NEW Squashville Social Club button -- designed
exclusive for us by Dean Griff himself! Joan (who doubles as our
Treasurer and our "order filler") has been filling orders as fast as they
come in. In fact - it was "back to the factory" (OK - actually Cathy
Hauk - our very own "in-house" button maker!) to get more buttons already!
But don't worry - we'll make sure we have plenty of buttons to fill
everyone's order. So get your order in! Just send $6.00 for the
first button ordered, $3.50 for each additional button in the same order, to
Joan Woodruff, 420 South Dara James Road, Des Plaines, IL 60016-2713.
And if you're wondering about the 2003 SSC Key Chain -- stay tuned!
It's going to be GREAT!! |
