Charming Tails Textiles

In January 1999, the first set of Charming Tails textiles were released. They are not being produced by Fitz and Floyd but are licensed. This means that the manufacturers, Manual Woodworkers and Weavers, pays royalties to make and sell these items.

Michael Brennan says that Manual Woodworkers and Weavers has done this type of work for other collectible lines, and the textile pieces do eventually get retired. He also said that the retirement of the textile is usually tied to the retirement of the figurine. So far Blossom Bounce, Gone Fishin', and Life Is a Picnic with You are retired from the first Lazy Days release.

LAZY DAYS

The first set of textiles had a Lazy Days theme and were released in January 1999.   This pattern was discontinued in 2000.  The prices on these vary for example, the Colorful Images catalog has the throw listed for $49.95.

EVERYBODY SING

The second set of textiles had an Everybody Sing theme and were released in June 1999.   This pattern has also been discontinued in 2000.  The prices on these vary in price range.  

The first prototype that was shown at the Flamingo Fling was colored wrong.  It had Mackenzie gray and the chickadee brown.  Fitz and Floyd contacted Manual Woodworkers and Weavers, the company making the throws, about the error.  However, when the throws were actually shipped, the error was still not corrected.  They forgot to make the change, and by that time it was too late.  Thus we have a gray Mackenzie instead of a brown one.

  MOON AND STARS  

The third set of textiles is a great gift for the new Mother-To-Be or a Baby Gift.  The Moon and Stars series was released in the summer 2000.   The prices on these vary in price range.
