The sports series was debuted at Rosemont in June 2000. Each figurine in the series depicts 8 different sports activities. Spare Me is a limited edition and each one is individually hand numbered. During the QVC show in June, Dean mentioned this series was inspired by collectors and that he himself wasn't sports-oriented. Lydia was included on each sports figurine to give the players good luck.
Spare Me was introduced in June 2000. It is considered a mid-year introduction. It is not in the 2000 catalog because it was released too late in the year.
Included with each figurine is a sealed pack of 3 assorted trading cards. There are 3 different cards for each figurine: artwork, sculpture and the final proof statistics.
The back of each card contains a quiz, trivia questions, and/or statistics pertaining to each sports figurine.
