In the photo below, Mackenzie On Ice has the mouse hanging on the side of the icicle. The 1996 catalog (p. 32) it shows the mouse almost at the top of the icicle. The boxes have photos either with Mackenzie on the top or the side. According to one report, during a photo session Mackenzie fell off the icicle and the photographer hot glued it back on in the wrong place since he looked at Binkey and Reginald on Ice as examples.
I never heard of anyone owning a Mackenzie On Ice near the top of the icicle until collector Liz Avery sent me photos (below) of her Mackenzie On Ice. In 1998 she purchased the ornament directly from a retail store. In 1999, Dean signed Mackenzie's inner ear during a signing event in N.J. Liz was told approximately 300 pieces of Mackenzie On Ice were done with the mouse at the top of the icicle.
