CHAUNCEY GROWING TOMATOES
89/607 Chauncey Growing Tomatoes
Original selling price:
$15.00
Introduced: May 1994
Issued: 1995
Retired: 1995
Similar to other seed packets: Binkey Growing Carrots, Butterfly Smelling Zinnia, and Mackenzie Growing Beans. The Dean Griff signature on this piece is engraved and not original.
The top left photo shows "TOMATO" with the last letter engraved as an "E" but painted as an "O" and the right photo has no word "BEANS" engraved on the back near Chauncey's tail.
The 3rd photo shows a version with the word "BEANS" engraved on the back and painted over in white. It appears that the word "BEANS" was smoothed down so the letters weren't as noticeable. Chauncey's color is more yellow and the front of the piece has no letter "E" etched on the front (shown in bottom right photo).
