The sports series was debuted at Rosemont in June 2000. Each figurine in the series depicts 8 different sports activities. Keep Your Eye On The Birdie is a limited edition and each one is individually hand numbered. During the QVC show in June, Dean mentioned this series was inspired by collectors and that he himself wasn't sports oriented. Lydia was included on each sports figurine to give the players good luck.
Keep Your Eye On The Birdie was introduced in June 2000. It is considered a mid-year introduction. It is not in the 2000 catalog because it was released too late in the year.
Included with each figurine is a pack of 3 sealed assorted trading cards. There are 3 different cards for each figurine; artwork, sculpture and the final proof stat cards.
The back of each card contains a quiz, trivia questions, and/or statistics pertaining to each sports figurine.
