THE ALTAR OF LOVE

82/108 The Altar of Love

Part of the Wedding set
Original selling price: $25.00
Introduced: January 1998
Issued: 1998
Retired: 2000

In the 1998, 1999 and 2000 catalogs the butterflies on either side of the altar are yellow.  The actual production piece has orange butterflies as shown in the left photo below. The piece with the yellow butterflies shown on the right is the actual prototype used during the photo shoot of The Altar of Love.

On May 16, 1998, many collectors attended an event celebrating the wedding of Maxine and Mackenzie at G & L Christmas Barn.  Dean also did the special print On To Plan B for this same event.

F & F donated several prototypes for this event: Radishing Beauty Salon, The Altar Of Love and Here Comes The Bride.  The Radishing Beauty Salon was sold by silent auction to the highest bidder.  The other 2 prototypes were raffled off.  All proceeds from the prototypes were donated to the American Cancer Society.

The name card calls this piece "The Altar Of Love With Dearly Beloved".
