Time for the Lazy Days of Summer

An Introduction to our new officers

Vice President – Tiffany Everett
is a long time collector of Charming Tails and along with her mom, Debbie, has been attending numerous functions as far back as the South Bend days in 1995.  Tiffany lives in Cincinnati, Ohio and is a very recent college graduate.  She travels quite a bit for her job so we’re quite happy she has squeezed the job into her already busy schedule.

As Vice President she will be responsible for obtaining and maintaining the sponsors needed to keep the prizes coming the games and contests.  She is also going to be the creative force behind those winning opportunities.

Secretary – Larry Mullen is also a long-time Charming Tails collector who has traveled far and wide to attend various Charming Tails events.  Most of you know him as the man who has the Italian greyhounds who keeps us posted as their activities on the bulletin board.

A special thanks goes to Larry who ‘volunteered’ after the elections to fill a seat that was a little harder to fill than we had expected.  After only a few short meetings Larry has proven a valuable member and the best minutes writer ever known!!  He is responsible for keeping the minutes and reminding the rest of us when meetings are – not an easy job when everyone isn’t in the same time zone.

A little information on the returning officers:

Treasurer – Joan Woodruff has been Treasurer for many years and because of her tenure keeps the rest of us in line as to the history and policies of the Board.  Joan has also been a collector from nearly the start and has one of the most complete collections.  You may have an opportunity to see her collection very soon – she’s only a few minutes from the event at European Imports.

Most of you don’t know that besides keeping track of our money Joan, as of last year, is also our button maker.

President – Susan Ott (that’s me) was previously your Vice President.  I have been collecting Charming Tails for since 1995 and can remember going to a ‘signing’ is a small town in Ohio way back when there wasn’t even a line!!!!  I was so excited the five-hour drive from my hometown of Elkhart, Indiana didn’t matter at all.

If you see any of us at an event, please make a point to introduce yourself to us.  We love to meet our fellow club members!!  I know that some of us will be at European Imports, Bronner’s and, of course, Las Vegas!!!!!!!!

I'm NUTS about ... a new key chain!!

4.  A Gift from Above
5.  Bringing Home the Tree
6.  Who's Going to Fill Your Shoes
7.  You're a Very Special Poppy
8.  Dad You Donut Know How Wonderful You Are

Do You Have a Contest You'd like to Submit for Our Newsletter?

If you submit an idea and it’s published, you will also win a prize.  It doesn’t have to be a hard puzzle or game.  Trust me, after thinking the Mystery Cruise game was a great idea, I quickly learned by the nearly non-existent response – that it was just too hard.  Hopefully, we will not let that happen again.  Since we had such great prizes for that contest (thanks to the Christmas Dove and Fitz & Floyd) you will want to either submit your ideas or be sure and enter all contests in the future.

We are hoping to add plenty of new sponsors to keep those prizes coming.  If you know of a store that would like to be a sponsor and have their website linked to our newsletter please e-mail Tiffany with their phone number and a contact person’s name.

We Need Your Suggestions!!!

Most of you will remember what a wonderful time we had at Rosemont with our Pizza Party.  (Not to mention the great charity contribution we were able to give that year.)  Since it looks like that convention is a thing of the past, we have not had a forum to gather a great number of our members in one place…so, we’d like some help with ideas to bring us together.  Suggestions have been made to maybe hold a little somethingin Las Vegas.  What do you, our members, want?  You have a team of officers ready to run with your ideas.

Check the "News in a Nutshell" archive for past issues!

Don't forget ... if you're ever looking for a past issue of "News in a Nutshell" - just click on the "ribbon" graphic that's towards the bottom of the CT Resource Page, right next to "Fun Stuff".  This is a permanent link and takes you to the Squashville Social Club Newsletter Archive!  All the past issues are there - for you to enjoy!

Squashville Social Club Sponsors!

Without the support of our sponsors, we would not be able to bring you the monthly contests.  Please show our sponsors how much we appreciate them by making your Charming Tails purchases from them.  And - to make it easy, we're adding a permanent list of all the wonderful stores that sponsor the Squashville Social Club.  This list will be here all the time - so anytime you're in the mood to do some "Tail shopping", just pick a sponsor and pick out the pieces you've "got to have"!!
