It's Time to Vote!

That's right -- it's time for the Squashville Social Club members to vote for this year's Charity Donation!  We've got some wonderful nominees this year and we are VERY excited to announce that, due in large part to the success of the Rosemont Pizza Party, the Charity Donation this year is $1,500!!  It's by FAR our largest contribution, so take some time to familiarize yourself with each nominated charity.  Each charity name is also a link to their web site where you can find out more about who they are and what they do.  When you've made the difficult decision, email your vote to Joan Woodruff - our Club Secretary.  Deadline for voting is Midnight (Central Time) November 30th (that's the Sunday after Thanksgiving) - buy why wait?  Get your vote in today!

Mayo Clinic - Breast Cancer Research

Broadway Cares - Equity Fights Aids

Evanston Animal Shelter - Building Fund

Announcing the 2004 SSC Button Design!

In our last newsletter - we asked for nominees for the Charity Vote and for submissions for the 2004 SSC Button Design.  The bad news is we only received one design for the 2004 button.  The GOOD NEWS is -- it's a wonderful design.  Because of time constraints (we gotta' get this one into production - fast!) - the Officers decided to not extend the deadline for designs - but unanimously approved this excellent design artfully created by Donna Moquin.  Don't send in any orders yet - we'll be sure to let you know (right here in the January issue of "News in a Nutshell") all the ordering information you'll need.  We just wanted to share this fabulous design with all our members - and say "Congrats!" to Donna!!

Sadly - it's time to say ... Good-Bye!

This past year, we were thrilled and excited to have a very special button design - created especially for us by Dean himself!  Button sales were "through the roof" - and we greatly appreciate the time and effort Dean put into such a wonderful design.  Alas - all good things must come to an end - and (sadly!) the 2003 SSC Button and Key Chains are now SOLD OUT!  Thanks to everyone who ordered - your support is GREATLY appreciated!

We want to feature ... YOU!!

You could be the next Charming Tails collector highlighted in our newsletter!!!
How? Just answer the following questions….

1. How long have you been collecting?

2. What is your favorite piece? Why?

3. What was your first piece? Did you purchase it for yourself or was it a gift?

4. Have you met Dean in person?

5. How many different events have you been to? What was your most memorable one?

6. How many pieces do you own?

7. Do you belong to a club?

8. Write a short paragraph about yourself (other interests, etc.)

It is always fun to learn about our fellow collectors. We all are very different but, obviously, have one thing in common!!! Many friendships have been made through collecting and a lot of those are with people we’ve never actually seen.

So, please share your story with us!  Just send an email to Jmsmott@aol.com and we'll take it from there!
