Dean Griff to design SSC 2003 Button!

The Officers of the Squashville Social Club are pleased to announce that, in commemoration of the first 5 years of the Club, Dean Griff has agreed to design the SSC 2003 Button.  We'll be previewing the design in a coming newsletter, but you know it will be a winner!  So be sure to check future SSC newsletters for more details!

But wait -- there's more..............

It's Charity Donation Nomination Time!

Because of Dean's generosity, we will not be having a contest for the button design this year.  BUT - we still need your nominations for our annual Charity Donation!  So send your nominations to Erin Bryan no later than October 26th (please make Erin's life easier and put "Charity Nomination" as the subject!).  Then - keep an eye out for an e-mail message announcing voting for the Squashville Social Club's 2002 Charity Donation!

Dean makes the Move!

Fitz & Floyd announced this week Dean's first appearance on the Home Shopping Network (HSN).  This coming Sunday, October 13th, at 5:30 AM Dean will be back "on the air."  According to Wanda Dierolf, Administrative Assistant, one of the items will be a special pair of porcelain ornaments.  This limited edition is a remake of "The Drifters" - the first ornaments done by Dean in 1992.  Will there be other special pieces offered?  You'll just have to tune in to make sure you don't miss them!

The original "Drifters" - being re-released in porcelain this month!

Beka from Florida

Beka has collected Charming Tails for two years, and in that time has amassed more than 360 pieces. Talk about dedication!
Her first piece was "I'm Thinking Of You."
She recalls, "I purchased it for my husband (at the time we were just dating), his job had just transferred him to South Florida and he had showed me Charming Tails in a card shop and said that he wouldn't mind collecting them because of their detail (he was trying to get me away from cows, which is what I collected at the time). Anyway, we found out that his job was transferring him and I wanted to get him a piece to take with him to remind him of me when we were apart. I went online and found this piece and purchased it for him."
" Take Time to Notice Those Around You" ranks among her favorite pieces.    "The reason it is my favorite is mainly because of the detail. I have always loved mushrooms, and Mackenzie laying across the top of that huge red mushroom is just too adorable to resist. In fact, I have two of them because I like it so much. I also like the idea behind it, taking time to notice the little things in life," Beka said.
Beka said she displays her Charming Tails in a curio cabinet, often creating special displays for holidays or seasons.
Beka said, "My favorite CT moment was walking into my wedding reception and seeing 'Together Forever' sitting on top of my heart-shaped wedding cake. Nobody there knew what CTs were (other than my family), so they got their first look."
Beka and her husband also collect Walt Disney Classics and Longaberger. They enjoy watching movies and playing video games of all sorts.
She is a member of the  Leaf & Acorn Club, of course, and also A Mixed Bag of Nuts.
